Plastic Collective and Milk & Honey partner to promote Plastic Net Zero certification
Plastic Collective, an innovative social enterprise which is helping businesses use plastic better and demonstrate plastic leadership, has appointed Milk & Honey PR to raise awareness of its valuable work. This new relationship bolsters Milk & Honey’s growing sustainability focus, under its new global division, Milk & Honey imPACT.
Milk & Honey will lead an awareness programme, focusing on English-speaking markets including the UK, US and Australia, to build understanding of the importance of taking plastic leadership action. This includes investing in plastic credits to facilitate the scale up of plastic collection and recycling activities where it is most needed.
In parallel, Milk & Honey will be continuing its own plastic leadership journey, working with Plastic Collective to address all elements of its operations. Having initiated this journey in 2019, as the world’s highest scoring B Corp communications agency Milk & Honey is committed to plastic leadership as an important part of its drive to do business in a way that benefits people, purpose, and planet.
Over the last 10 years, Plastic Collective has pioneered and developed an innovative plastic leadership program, enabling businesses of any size to take responsibility for the plastic they use by investing in projects that collect and recycle plastic waste on their behalf. These tailor-made, plastic-reduction strategies, are aligned with industry best practices such as the Guidelines for Corporate Plastic Stewardship and the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals.
Through these projects, local workers collect and recycle plastic waste from the environment and other natural ecosystems, including ocean-bound plastic. Plastic credit funding from businesses promotes environmental and social wellbeing in these communities, including providing a living wage to workers, resulting in a truly circular approach to plastic reduction.
Steve Hardman, Chairman at Plastic Collective, said: “Milk & Honey PR is part of a growing body of environmentally conscious companies that are taking responsibility for the plastic they use, where their plastic actions sit alongside a broader set of environmental initiatives under their BCorp certification. We are delighted to work with them to make an impact in communities affected by extreme plastic waste.”
Caroline Gruen, director client services at Milk & Honey PR, said: “Since inception, Milk & Honey PR has focused on nurturing the reputations of purpose-driven brands. Plastic Collective’s valuable work addresses a really important element of any businesses’ environmental impact and is similarly a key step in our own BCorp journey.
“We are excited to work together on achieving plastic neutrality, while supporting Plastic Collective in demonstrating the benefits to an even wider business audience.”
Milk & Honey launched its new imPACT division back in May 2023, with the following vision:
“Making an impact is a journey. Milk & Honey works with businesses who are passionate about making a meaningful pact with the world around them, supporting them in communicating their sustainability and impact programmes authentically, in a way all audiences can understand.”
