LONDON — Milk & Honey PR has kicked off 2024 by launching a new Broadcast and Podcast division to address the unique challenges and opportunities presented by the transforming nature of media.

In a landscape where broadcast media prioritises reporting current events over narratives brands aspire to tell, Milk & Honey’s broadcast offering is designed to bridge that gap. It goes beyond traditional broadcast days – which could be seen as a flash in the pan approach – to clients nurturing longstanding relationships with media. Milk & Honey will support clients in crafting, and delivering, a narrative that resonates with the news agenda and enhances brand visibility.

With podcasts now reaching on average more than one in five people in the UK, Milk & Honey’s podcast offering will focus on developing bespoke ‘topical series’ for clients to reach their desired audience. These shows will position clients as industry experts, collaborating with respected guests from relevant sectors. The demand for podcasts as a reliable tool for establishing client credibility has been on the rise, and Milk & Honey is strategically positioned to meet this demand.

The new division is spearheaded by Client Director Lewis Oakley, in partnership with Partner and Global Head of Media, Zharina Arnaldo

Lewis has been proving there’s success to be found in the integration of PR smarts with the broadcast medium. He’s a regular contributor to national radio and TV stations in both newspaper reviews and debates. Last year, he hosted his own Virgin Radio show, while also co-hosting one of the UK’s leading LGBTQ+ podcasts, Bisexual Brunch.

Zharina is an Emmy-nominated former international broadcast journalist who has worked for the BBC, CNN, Reuters and Al Jazeera English. She understands the global media landscape, a space she’s been working in for more than 20 years. She also knows what makes a compelling interview – and as a result has successfully media trained C-Suite executives, government ministers and heads of state.

Oakley commented: “I’m so excited to be bringing my two worlds together in a way that I believe is going to have real return for our clients. Media has changed, and if we want to keep delivering for our clients, we need to meet the news agenda where it is to build our clients’ reputations”.

Arnaldo commented: “In this evolving media landscape, the key is to empower our clients to seamlessly integrate into the ever-changing news cycle. To cut through the noise, we need to go beyond simply inserting clients into the news agenda – we need to strategically position them to contribute meaningfully to the zeitgeist. I’m excited to be able to leverage my broadcast experience and help our clients on this journey.”

Milk & Honey PR’s approach is not about fleeting attention but rather establishing sustained credibility. The focus is on meeting the news agenda where it stands and seamlessly linking it back to the impactful work of its clients.
